English 33-hole cross; central starting gap; any final single peg wins.

Something to practise

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Refer to the controls when needed.

What counts as success

Leave a single peg on the English cross board. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

The steps to play

  1. Select a peg and an empty hole two squares away.
  2. Jump horizontally or vertically over one peg, removing it.
  3. Plan so remaining pegs can still interact.
  4. Undo repairs a deadlock.

How your actions work

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

See the idea in action

Peg–peg–empty in one line permits one jump. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Notice the change in the playing area.

An important reminder

Diagonal jumps and pulling are not allowed. Check the rule before repeating the action. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
